Player Contract

Ashland Volleyball Club Player & Family Contract 

It is agreed between ______________________________________ (player) and Ashland Volleyball Club, that the athlete will participate in the club’s activities for the 2024-2025 USAV Junior Season.

The athlete and parents(s)/guardian agree to abide by the following guidelines:

1. There is no guaranteed tournament playing time. Coaches will make every attempt to give each player opportunities to play.

2. Parents may not confront a coach during a tournament. Any concerns should be addressed privately and with common courtesy after AT LEAST 24 hours when cooler heads should prevail.

3. No player may leave a practice/tournament without permission from the coach.

4. All players will be assigned officiating responsibilities during each tournament, and should stay at the tournament site until they are released by the coach.  Players not completing officiating responsibilities may forfeit playing time in the next tournament.

5. Parents are responsible for all transportation to and from practices and tournaments. Carpooling is encouraged. Parents are also responsible for all hotel lodging and food.

6. Players are expected to attend practice sessions. If there is a conflict please notify a coach at least 24 hours in advance. Missed practice time may result in loss of playing time.

7. Commitment to all tournament dates are expected. If you are unable to attend a tournament, notify a coach as soon as possible.

8. If a team does not have enough players for a scheduled tournament, the following procedures will be enacted:

1. Teams may borrow players from another team if both coaches agree

2. The additional player must come from a team in the same or younger age group

3. Team will forfeit the tournament without refund– Ashland Volleyball Club LLC will not refund any money to individuals due to canceled tournaments

9. Players agree to pay the following fee: 

11s/12s Modified Season - $700

Regional Team - $950 

American Team - $1150 

10.  No refunds will be given.

11.  No player will receive her uniform or be allowed to play until all fees are paid.

12.  All players and parents will read and abide by the AVBC Handbook.

Ashland Volleyball Club agrees to provide the following services:

1. Pay all tournament fees, coaches’ fees, club fees, and secure gyms for team practices.

2. Provide quality coaching that will allow each player to improve her skills.

Due Process/Grievance Procedure:

In the event there is a problem, players are instructed to talk to the coach of their team first.  If the problem is not rectified, then a player/parent meeting with the coach will take place. No sooner than after these processes take place should the club director be notified. If the problem still persists, the issue may be addressed with the club director. After speaking to both parties, the director will render a decision.  If a problem still exists, the parents/player have the right to appeal the director’s decision to a grievance committee.  The decision of the committee will be final.
